Carnival Cruise Line recently revealed another main attraction in Celebration Key. Opening in July 2025, the Starfish Lagoon is a family-friendly area that will offer floating cabanas, 350-foot water slides, a swim-up bar, several dining options, a splash pad, and more.

The Starfish Lagoon is built around one of the Caribbean’s largest freshwater lagoons. It promises fun activities for everyone in the family, from toddlers to adults.
“At Carnival, we carry more children than any other cruise line, so we’ve designed Starfish Lagoon specifically for family fun. Toddlers, teens, and adults alike will find their own piece of paradise whether it be racing down one of the waterslides, playing a round of pickleball, or relaxing on our floating AquaBanas,” said Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy. |
Located near the entrance, the Guppy Grotto is a splash pad for small children with a wading pool, water toys, a dump bucket, an ice cream shop, and shaded seating for parents.
Older kids and kids at heart can enjoy two water slides. Each 350-foot slide winds around the 10-story Suncastle. You can catch your breath while enjoying scenic views of Starfish Lagoon from a handful of hammocks nearby.
Meanwhile, the Game Pavilion has ping pong, foosball, and cornhole tables, while the Sports Court can accommodate basketball, pickleball, and volleyball matches.
Guests who want to relax by the water can reserve one of 12 floating cabanas or AquaBanas. Vacationers can lounge in the shade with their feet in the water and a refreshing drink in hand.
Each Aquabana has seats for eight people, a table, and non-slip surfaces. It also offers easy access to the lagoon and bar.
For folks who can’t tear themselves away from the pool, the Swim Up Bar has a selection of tropical drinks, including frozen rum cocktails. Aside from bars, Starfish Lagoon features restaurants, snack stands, and Bahamian food trucks.
The area also has a stretch of white-sand beach and crystal-clear water. Guests can rent kayaks and paddleboards, play frisbee, or relax in loungers and beachside cabanas.
Next up: Sneak Peek into Adults-Only Area
Earlier this year, Carnival gave cruisers a sneak peek into 2 of Celebration Keys’ other main areas, Paradise Plaza and Calypso Lagoon. The cruise line said it would soon share more details about its adults-only venue.
Cruisers keen on experiencing Carnival’s newest destination in Grand Bahama will find over 500 itineraries on the island. Eighteen ships sailing from 10 US home ports are scheduled to visit Celebration Key when it opens.
