Last week, AIDA Cruises’ mega ship AIDAcosma made her inaugural call at the new Dubai Harbour Cruise Terminal. To mark the occasion, numerous representatives from Dubai Port Authorities, Inchcape Shipping, and Dubai Cruise Terminal boarded the vessel for the official plaque ceremony. Captain Tommy Möller and General Manager Nicolas Goelen welcomed the guests for the formal event and tour of the ship.
Since 2006, Carnival Corporation has worked with local partners to build the Middle Eastern region into a popular cruise destination for German travelers during the winter months. In 2018, the company entered into a partnership with Shamal Holding to develop Dubai into a regional tourism hub. Part of the agreement included the construction of the Dubai Cruise Terminal. Located in the center of modern Dubai, it’s within easy reach of the city’s major attractions.

To kick off its season in the United Arab Emirates, guests on board watched a light show of the Ain Dubai live from the deck. The Ain Dubai is the highest and largest Ferris wheel in the world. On November 19th, German DJ Alle Farben performed on the Beach Club stage on board.
The event was rounded off with sweet treats, dance workshops, and destination-focused lectures.
