Celebrity Cruises has announced its entry into the river cruise market, revealing plans for two innovative ships set to launch in 2027.
The vessels, Celebrity Compass and Celebrity Seeker, will sail the Rhine and Danube rivers, bringing the brand’s premium ocean-style amenities to Europe’s inland waterways.
The ships will feature Celebrity’s signature design elements, including Infinite Veranda staterooms, cantilevered dining spaces, and expansive open decks.
Each ship will offer more outdoor space than any other river vessel, including a top-deck bar and plunge pool designed for year-round comfort.
“Our new river ships will be the most innovative on the river, with a design that offers more space to vacation while bringing guests even closer to destinations,” said Laura Hodges Bethge, President of Celebrity Cruises.
Features of the New Celebrity River Ships:
- Magic Edge Dining Pods: Floating cantilevered dining venues above the river, offering regionally inspired menus.
- Eight Restaurants and Bars: Including brand staples like Martini Bar, Café Al Bacio, and Sunset Bar.
- Infinite Veranda Staterooms: Technology that transforms indoor space into an open-air balcony at the touch of a button.
- Skylight Infinite Balcony Suites: Featuring dramatic ceiling windows and exclusive butler service.
- 24/7 Dining Access: The only river ships to offer round-the-clock food service.
- Eco-Conscious Design: Hybrid propulsion and advanced waste management systems for reduced environmental impact.
The ships will sail 33 seven-night itineraries, with multiple ports per day and immersive overnight stays. Itineraries will include stops in Budapest, Vienna, and Cologne, as well as off-the-beaten-path villages.
Optional pre- and post-cruise extensions in cities like Prague and Budapest will be available starting in early 2026.
The launch marks Royal Caribbean Group’s entry into the river cruise segment.
