Celebrity Cruises is inviting cruisers worldwide to help shape the guest experience on its newest ship, Celebrity Xcel, debuting this November.

Through the Xcel “Dream Makers” initiative, participants will vote on design, dining, and entertainment features—a unique move in the cruise industry.
The public will provide input through online polls and exclusive in-person events, helping to finalize the design of the fifth ship in the award-winning Edge Series.
Participants can influence textiles, interior design, dining concepts, and entertainment, tailoring the ship to traveler preferences.
“We want our guests to love everything about their time onboard, so involving them in shaping Celebrity Xcel made perfect sense,” said Michael Scheiner, chief marketing and product officer at Celebrity Cruises. “This ship will redefine leisure travel, blending guest creativity with our innovative approach to cruising.”
Dream Makers will also influence seven new yet-to-be-revealed features onboard.
Their contributions will include:
- Selecting fabrics and curating interior design elements.
- Choosing table settings, dishes, and shaping new culinary concepts.
- Providing input on headline shows, entertainment playlists, and costumes.

On January 18, Celebrity Xcel hit a major milestone, floating out of dry dock at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France.
This milestone echoes the innovative spirit seen in Celebrity’s Edge Series, a line that has consistently set benchmarks in luxury and design since its debut in 2018.
The ceremony marked the completion of the ship’s exterior as it moves closer to welcoming guests.
Celebrity Xcel will also feature the industry’s first tri-fuel engine, a significant step in Royal Caribbean Group’s push toward net-zero emissions by 2050.
The ship’s inaugural season will launch with seven-night itineraries from Fort Lauderdale, visiting destinations like the Bahamas, Mexico, and St. Maarten.
In summer 2026, Celebrity Xcel will sail the Mediterranean on itineraries from Barcelona and Athens, including overnight stays in Madeira, Portugal.
