Boutique cruise line Celestyal reveals major renovation plans for the Celestyal Discovery vessel while introducing a simpler all-in pricing structure.
Cruisers can expect major refurbishments to Celestyal Discovery in April 2025. The cruise line revealed that the mid-sized ship will undergo further modifications, including the addition of 47 cabins. The new staterooms mean a 7.4% increase in passenger capacity, raising the ship’s maximum occupancy to 1,300 guests.
Its new accommodations will feature two premium Grand Horizon Suites with bigger balconies and superior views, 30 Junior Dream Suites, a new stateroom category, and 15 Cosmos Cabins with upgraded and spacious interiors.
Passengers occupying premium accommodations will be entitled to more perks like an exclusive Sail Away party, a pillow menu, daily cocktail hours, and priority check-ins. Moreover, the Smoked Olive restaurant will be a dedicated area for suite guests while a new pop-up evening restaurant will offer private dining.
The brand-new cabins can be booked beginning December 10, 2024. Cruisers can join a November 21, 2025, sailing from Athens that will take them to Santorini, Patmos, Kusadasi, and Mykonos.
Celestyal Discovery underwent an earlier multi-million dollar renovation after Celestyal Cruises acquired the vessel from Carnival Corporation.
Purchases Made Easier
Celestyal Cruises also announced a more straightforward pricing structure named Celestyal One and introduced a digital wallet called CelestyalPay.
Celestyal One will replace the Experience and Experience Plus packages. The all-in-one rate covers the cruise fare, guests’ Wi-Fi access, water, coffee, soda, and tea, taxes, port fees, and crew gratuities.
Meanwhile, its beverage packages will be replaced by CelestyalPay, a digital wallet that can be loaded before sailing or settled after the cruise. Guests can add charges to their CelestyalPay account to buy food and drinks that aren’t complimentary.
The cruise operator added that Pizza Oven and Greek Deli will become part of complimentary dining.
The new pricing structure and digital wallet will be available on cruises booked from December 11, 2024, and itineraries from March 21, 2025, onwards.
Celestyal Chief Commercial Officer Lee Haslett remarked that the two features will elevate the guest experience. “Our new simplified approach offers enhanced inclusions, more choice, more flexibility, and out-of-this-world value. …we’re making sure guests have everything they need to enjoy their time onboard with ease and convenience.”
Digital wallets are designed for onboard environments, making them more secure than credit and debit cards.
