Celestyal Cruises Will Return to the Arabian Gulf with New UAE Stops, Excursions

Celestyal is doubling down on its Arabian Gulf plans, signing a new three-year deal with the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority to spotlight the UAE destination on its winter itineraries.

On Embarkation Day, people gather on the decks of the Celestyal Journey cruise ship during sunset. The scene includes a pool, lifebuoy, and several levels of decks with railings. The skyline of Doha is visible in the background under a hazy sky.

Beginning December 2025, the cruise line will call weekly on Ras Al Khaimah as part of its “Iconic Arabia” cruises aboard the 1,360-guest Celestyal Discovery, sailing round-trip from Abu Dhabi.

The partnership, announced at Arabian Travel Market in Dubai, will also bring curated, guest-exclusive shore experiences to Ras Al Khaimah.

These new excursions are designed to highlight the emirate’s cultural and natural appeal, known for its desert landscapes, ancient ruins, and mountain scenery. They boost Celestyal’s goal of offering “authentic, in-depth exploration,” said Lee Haslett, Celestyal’s Chief Commercial Officer.

After exceeding expectations in its first season in the Arabian Gulf—bookings surpassed targets by 35%—Celestyal will introduce a second ship to the region next winter.

The Celestyal Discovery, with its blue and white hull and multiple decks, has returned to service. Featuring premium accommodations, the top deck boasts lifeboats and a pool area. Industrial buildings dot the background, all reflected in the calm waters of the port.

Celestyal Discovery will join Celestyal Journey in the region when it homeports in Abu Dhabi from December 12. It will offer three-, four-, and seven-night sailings starting at $918 per couple for four nights, including Wi-Fi and gratuities.

The itineraries visit destinations like Doha, Dubai, Sir Bani Yas Island, and Oman’s Khasab.

With this expansion, Celestyal also plans to double its port calls in Qatar, further anchoring its presence in the Gulf.
