Disney Cruise Line Takes Delivery of Disney Destiny

Disney Cruise Line has officially taken delivery of its newest ship, Disney Destiny, at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.

The handover took place on September 17, 2025, marking the ship’s official conveyance from the shipbuilder to Disney Cruise Line. Disney Destiny is the third vessel in the Wish-class series, joining Disney Wish (2022) and Disney Treasure (2024).

The ship will carry the Bahamian flag and operate under the port of registry of Nassau.

Like her sister ships, Disney Destiny was built to run on LNG, aligning with Disney Cruise Line’s sustainability goals. The ship’s design also continues the line’s tradition of combining classic ocean liner style with modern Disney storytelling and family-friendly features.

What’s Next?

Now that the vessel has been handed over, Disney Destiny will depart Germany for its initial sea trials and final outfitting. Disney Cruise Line is expected to announce more details soon, including inaugural itineraries and onboard features.

Disney Destiny is anticipated to begin sailing with guests in 2026, but Disney has not yet confirmed a maiden voyage date.

The delivery of Disney Destiny marks the latest addition to Disney Cruise Line’s fleet expansion, which includes two more ships expected by the end of the decade, as well as the development of new destinations, such as Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point in The Bahamas.
