Celebrity Cruise Line recently shared details about The Bazaar, a three-level venue onboard Celebrity Xcel designed to immerse guests in the local festivals and cultures of their destinations.

The brand-new concept, in the space of Eden on current Edge-class ships, promises to “erase the line between ship and shore” by treating passengers to the sights, sounds, flavors, and traditions of various ports of call. According to the cruise line, the venue will change daily based on the vessel’s route.
The Bazaar will host locally inspired markets filled with artisan products, interactive craft experiences, local celebrations, destination-inspired dance and cooking classes, regional cuisine, and entertainment.
Guests can look forward to four Caribbean festivals, each based on the ship’s destination.
Themed Activities
Based on the theme, vacationers may find themselves tasting local hot sauces, savoring rum and chocolate pairings, learning how to weave baskets, indulging in the art of embroidery, browsing masks from the Caribbean, or trying on Mexican leather hats.
Regional Flavors
Through the Mosaic, culinary professionals from the Chef’s Table will honor local dishes. Expect reimagined regional dishes and an extensive tasting menu that have been elevated for travelers.
Another area within the multi-level site, Spice, will offer guests bite-sized flavors along with floor-to-ceiling views of the horizon.
Scintillating Sea Days
On sea days, The Bazaar will welcome local artisans onboard who will present their work and demonstrate how they are made, encouraging guests to participate.
“The Bazaar is a truly one-of-a-kind space designed to seamlessly blend ship and shore and transform the way guests experience destinations,” remarked Celebrity Cruises President Laura Hodges Bethge.
Celebrity Xcel’s November Debut
During the vessel’s inaugural season, Celebrity Xcel will sail from Fort Lauderdale, taking guests on alternating seven-night Caribbean sailings. Its destinations include St. Maarten, St. Thomas, Puerto Plata, the Cayman Islands, Mexico, and The Bahamas.
The same vessel will travel through Europe in the summer of 2026. Seven- to 11-night itineraries will explore the Mediterranean ports of Barcelona, Athens, Madeira, and more.
Celebrity Xcel’s construction began in November 2024. It touched water for the first time last January 18 and will enter service in November 2025, becoming the cruise line’s first methanol-powered ship.
A few weeks ago, the cruise operator invited the public to vote on its design, dining, and entertainment. It was an unconventional decision, fostering engagement and anticipation for Celebrity Xcel’s upcoming debut.
