Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) and the National Hockey League (NHL) just established a multi-year US partnership to allow sports fans and cruise enthusiasts to enjoy shared content, launches, and promotional offers from the two brands.
NCL Becomes Official Cruise Line of the NHL
In a first-of-its-kind tie-up, the North American sports league named NCL as the official cruise line of the NHL.
The collaboration gives NCL exclusive marketing opportunities, linking the brand with the NHL and its fans through the league’s extensive marketing, digital, and social media platforms.
Exciting Promotions and Free Cruises for Hockey Fans
One of the partnership’s major initiatives is assigning NCL as the presenting sponsor of the NHL’s weekly top goals content and the highly awaited goal of the year.
Hockey fans get to vote on the goal content shown on NHL platforms. In exchange, they can win a grand prize, a free cruise, and other exciting rewards.
So, don’t be surprised if you see NCL’s logo in NHL’s major events such as the NHL All-Star Weekend, NHL Winter Classic, and NHL Stadium Series.
You’ll also see the cruise line on ESPN, TNT’s Digitally Enhanced Dasherboards (DED) advertising, and the Stanely Cup Playoffs.
New Partnership Blends Sports and Travel Promotions
NCL Chief Marketing Officer, Adam Malone, expressed anticipation at having the two organizations closely linked.
❝ We are thrilled to be partnering with the NHL. The passion and excitement we see from their fans is truly contagious, and we share that same electrifying passion for traveling the globe and delivering more to see, more to do, and more to enjoy for our guests. Through this partnership, the NHL has provided a fantastic platform for us to connect with their fans, and we cannot wait to show them how they can ‘Experience More at Sea’ with NCL❞ – Malone said.
Jason Jazayeri, NHL’s Vice President for Business Development, noted how the alliance will heighten NHL fans’ excitement. “Leveraging our award-winning DED signage and connecting the NCL brand to some of our most celebrated in-game moments helps build more excitement for our partnership in a way that is authentic to our fans,” Jazayeri explained.
“We look forward to partnering with one of the world’s leading cruise lines and helping drive a deeper connection between their brand and our passionate fan base,” he concluded.
