The contest winners are Kimberly Powell of Lafayette, Louisiana, who first submitted Norwegian Breakaway, and Dennis Hultman of Vienna, Virginia, who first submitted Norwegian Getaway.
“We felt Norwegian Breakaway and Norwegian Getaway epitomized both our Freestyle Cruising philosophy and our belief that these ships will offer a true respite, whisking our guests away from their everyday routines and delivering the ultimate cruise vacation,” said Kevin Sheehan, Norwegian’s chief executive officer.
The two winners will receive a trip for two to Norwegian Breakaway’s inaugural festivities, including the Christening Ceremony (TBD).
Both ships will carry 4,000-passengers and over 144,000 tons, launching in the spring of 2013 and 2014.

We love to cruise and prefer NCL.
Can “Getaway’ — the liner’s name being taken from one of our most famous travel television programs here in Australia — be positioned in the Southern Hemisphere in Sydney. Maybe you could consider cruises to both the South Pacific and more interestingly, cruise to places like Vietnam, Cambodia, Japan and China etc.
Aussies are really taking to cruising and we live in “Magic Land” — seemingly untouched by global crises and full of healthy, adventurous baby-boomers. Not a bad market when you think of it.
