Norwegian Cruise Line has selected the bold and innovative Prince as the focus of its latest musical, “Revolution: A Celebration of Prince.”
The in-house production will be a one-hour-long concert-style experience that will pay tribute to the multi-awarded artist. Guests can watch the show or join the cast on the dance floor while enjoying Prince’s classic hits “Purple Rain,” “Delirious,” Little Red Corvette,” and Let’s Go Crazy.”
The show’s director and choreographer, Patricia Wilcox, said she came up with the idea several years ago.
“I’ve always been inspired by Prince, and the idea came to me nearly seven years ago to create a theatrical concert that would joyfully celebrate his music and exceptional artistry,” Wilcox shared. “Revolution” is being produced in collaboration with Prince Legacy and Primary Wave Music, two companies in charge of the iconic singer’s estate. |
Reimagined “Elements: The World Expanded”
But there’s more than one reason to anticipate Norwegian Aqua’s entertainment line-up. The old favorite, “Elements: The World Expanded,” is being revamped, offering music, “acrobatics, magic, and intrigue” in a whole new package. NCL’s highest-rated show from 15 years ago takes inspiration from earth, wind, water, and fire, promising audiences more immersive surprises.

Many of the vessel’s headliners will occur in the Aqua Theater & Club, a performance venue and Vegas-style nightclub. The three-story facility features a huge dance floor, state-of-the-art lighting, an interactive chandelier, and two bars.

As a nightclub, the Aqua Theater & Club will offer different party themes—”90s Party,” the Latin-style “Livin’ La Vida Loca,” and the Prince-inspired “Pop Life.”
You can also catch “The Welcome Aboard Show” and “Ocean Music Fest” at the Aqua Theater. The former previews everything Norwegian Aqua offers, while the latter brings together the cruise ship’s world-class musical talent in one lively performance.
Norwegian’s Vice President of Entertainment Production Bryan Anthony White summarized the vessel’s entertainment, saying: “Our talented performers and the staff behind-the-scenes who bring our original productions to life are one-of-a-kind, and their dedication, passion, and effort truly shines through when watching these exceptional shows.”
Norwegian Aqua will start offering seven-day Caribbean sailings from Port Canaveral in April 2025. The 3,571-passenger vessel will transport guests to tropical destinations like Puerto Plata, Tortola, St. Thomas, and NCL’s private resort, Great Stirrup Cay.
Since announcing its 20th vessel, NCL has offered sneak peeks at Aqua’s amenities and dining venues.
