Carnival Cruise Line is rolling out a new digital platform to simplify the shore excursion experience for guests and tour operators alike.
No More Paper Tickets
Now being piloted with select partners in The Bahamas and Caribbean, the platform eliminates the need for physical tickets, allowing guests to check in using their Sail & Sign card.
The system has already seen success in Australia and will be fully implemented at Celebration Key in Grand Bahama by its July 19 debut.
The new platform connects with Carnival’s HUB App to provide digital confirmations and real-time notifications with meeting times and locations.
It also allows for last-minute bookings, allowing shore excursion operators to register guests on the spot.
Mixed Reviews
While Carnival promotes the system as a modern upgrade, some early feedback has been mixed.
“It’s convenient when it works, but not everyone has a smartphone or wants to rely on it ashore, especially when batteries run low,” said a guest involved in the early testing process.
Carnival plans to expand the platform to more destinations throughout the Caribbean, The Bahamas, and Mexico later this year, with Europe and Alaska set to follow in 2026.
The full platform will launch at Celebration Key, Carnival’s first exclusive destination, which was developed from the ground up. It features four distinct zones and a mile-long beach.
Celebration Key will also serve as a testing ground for new tech integrations, with Carnival’s HUB App at the center of the guest experience—from shore excursions to real-time ship updates.
