With a distinctive Texas star on its funnel, the Carnival Jubilee finds even more ways to honor its Galveston home port while exciting its first passengers.
Carnival Cruise Line announced that the 183,521-ton ship will host a Texas-sized tailgate party and a new musical when it debuts on December 23.
The Lido Deck will be the venue of the Lone Star Tailgate, a 3-hour Texas-style tailgate that offers the same energy as a football game—complete with country fairgrounds and rodeos. Exclusive to the Carnival Jubilee, it will also have contests and giveaways.
“We have created Carnival University, a fictitious university in the heart of Texas. It’s the big game night, and we are throwing a tailgate party for the whole family. The activities, from races and challenges to a party band celebrating Texas-born musical artists, put a fresh take on our crowd-pleasing fun,” described Carnival Cruise Line Vice President of Entertainment Chris Nelson.
Premier of the new interactive pop musical: Dear Future Husband
Jubilee’s inaugural sailing will also celebrate the premiere of Dear Future Husband, an interactive pop musical that tells the story of a bride, groom, and their best friends. Along the way, audiences can enjoy contemporary musical hits like “Marry You,” “Man! I Feel Like a Woman,” and “Moves Like Jagger.”
The show ends with a reception where guests can participate by dancing and meeting the cast members.

Passengers who enjoy R&B music shouldn’t miss Soulbound, another musical with more soulful tunes. Inspired by the South, the Playlist Production has become a popular attraction on other Carnival vessels.
Carnival’s entertainment line-up includes the new “Family Feud Live,” “Deal or No Deal,” and performances at the Punchliner Comedy Club. Additionally, the cruise line recently announced several kid-friendly programs for its newest Fun Ship.
During its inaugural sailing on the 23rd, the Jubilee will explore Roatan, Honduras, Cozumel, and Costa Maya, Mexico. It will then embark on weeklong itineraries to the West Caribbean.
