Celebrity Cruises has revealed details about their fifth Edge class ship. The vessel will be named Celebrity Xcel and is set to make its debut in November 2025.

At the same time, the cruise line also took possession of Celebrity Ascent, which will soon embark on its maiden voyage from Florida.
The ship will begin sailing from Fort Lauderdale in the winter of 2025 on alternating seven-night Caribbean cruise itineraries.
Port calls will include the Bahamas, Mexico, the Cayman Islands, Puerto Plata, St. Thomas, and St. Maarten. These sailings are now open for sale.
“The Edge Series has shattered preconceived notions of cruising. I am thrilled to announce our next bold step as a brand with Celebrity Xcel,” said Laura Hodges Bethge, President of Celebrity, speaking at the steel cutting at Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France.
Features of Celebrity Xcel
Celebrity Xcel will build upon the experiences and amenities in Excel-class sister ships and add new groundbreaking features to be shared shortly.
The ship will house contemporary two-story villas with private plunge pools and staterooms with infinite verandas. The Retreat is an exclusive resort-within-a-resort concept for suite guests, featuring a two-story sundeck.
A redesigned Grand Plaza will span three decks, offering a spacious, airy indoor space, and a Daniel Boulud fine-dining restaurant is planned. Celebrity Xcel sees the return of the iconic Magic Carpet cantilevered social dining platform. Also planned is a multi-level Sunset Bar at the ship’s aft.
Celebrity Xcel’s name reveal comes as its newest sister ship, Celebrity Ascent, prepares for its debut this month.
