Drew Barrymore and Orlando Bloom Star in MSC Cruises’ Super Bowl Debut

MSC Cruises is making waves with its first-ever Big Game commercial, a significant milestone that underscores the company’s commitment to strengthening its presence in the competitive U.S. market.

A man in a blue suit leans on a black grand piano while a woman in a patterned blouse, reminiscent of Orlando Bloom’s casual elegance, plays it. They are in a modern, well-lit room with large windows and white furniture. Both appear to be smiling and enjoying the moment.

The 60-second ad, set to air during the 2025 Super Bowl, features Hollywood stars Drew Barrymore and Orlando Bloom. It highlights the cruise line’s unique blend of European elegance and American comfort, spotlighting its upcoming flagship, MSC World America.

Barrymore and Bloom will showcase the family-owned company’s offerings, including a glimpse of their vacation aboard the MSC World America. The campaign aligns with MSC’s ongoing expansion in the U.S. cruise market.

“I am so proud to work with MSC Cruises, a company that helps families create unforgettable memories,” said Drew Barrymore, actress and host of The Drew Barrymore Show. “They take care of the planning and make every journey beautiful and joyful.”

In a teaser for the ad, Barrymore and Bloom share a lighthearted moment in the exclusive MSC Yacht Club’s Top Sail Lounge.

The duo performs their version of Madonna’s “Holiday,” the campaign’s musical signature. Bloom expressed excitement about the collaboration, calling the ship “perfectly designed for immersive and enriching experiences at sea.”

A New Era for MSC in North America

MSC World America is poised to redefine cruising when it debuts on April 9, 2025, sailing from PortMiami.

Offering 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries, the ship will feature a stop at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, the line’s private Bahamian island.

The water is dark and calm as the ship moves forward, creating a wake—a scene reminiscent of a Super Bowl commercial with surprise celebrities.

To put MSC’s expansion into perspective, this move comes as the cruise industry grows increasingly competitive in the U.S. market.

Rivals like Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Line have also introduced groundbreaking ships and itineraries.

Highlights of MSC World America include:

  • Seven distinct districts tailored to different vacation styles.
  • 19 dining venues, including the only Eataly restaurant at sea.
  • 18 bars and lounges, featuring new concepts like All Stars Sports Bar and The Loft comedy club.
  • The Harbour, an outdoor family venue with a ropes course, water park, and over-water swing ride.
  • World Promenade, an oceanfront space with dining, shopping, and one of the longest dry slides at sea.
  • The 3-level World Galleria, bustling with entertainment, shops, and restaurants.
  • The largest MSC Yacht Club in the Caribbean, offering a luxurious ship-within-a-ship experience.

MSC World America’s launch coincides with the opening of MSC’s new Miami Cruise Terminal, set to become the largest in the world.

Later in 2025, MSC Cruises will expand its presence with sailings from Galveston, Texas, and in 2026, the line will introduce itineraries to Alaska.
