MSC Cruises Announces World-Class Ship Coming to Port Canaveral in 2027

MSC Cruises plans to expand its offerings from Port Canaveral and has identified ships that will sail from the Florida port through 2028.

The company announced that its fourth World-class vessel will be deployed at the port in time for its 2027 to 2028 winter season. MSC’s decision will make it the second World-class cruise ship to sail from North America after MSC World America debuts this April. Similar to MSC World America, the unnamed mega vessel will sail week-long Caribbean voyages from Port Canaveral.

These vessels were designed specifically for the American market and will be the biggest cruise ships in MSC’s fleet.

Cruisers looking for more immediate departures can consider MSC Grandiosa and MSC Seashore. Both vessels are available for the 2025 to 2026 and 2026 to 2027 winter cruise seasons.

The 2019-built Grandiosa offers seven-night getaways to the Caribbean while the 2021-made Seashore has shorter three- and four-night options. From Florida, MSC Seashore will take guests to the Bahamas and the cruise line’s exclusive island destination, the Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve.

EVP and Chief Commercial Officer for MSC Cruises USA, Lyn Torrent, reiterated that MSC’s multi-year deployment demonstrates the company’s continued commitment to the port. “Our commitment to Port Canaveral is stronger than ever, thanks to the incredible support from our partners there and the growing demand from our guests who love the port’s convenient location,” she shared.

“We’re especially excited to bring a World-class ship to Port Canaveral, continuing our long-standing pledge to deploy our most modern and innovative ships in the Caribbean market,” Torrent added.

Port Canaveral CEO, Captain John Murray, expressed anticipation for the incoming vessels. “The addition of these exceptional ships to our homeported fleet will add even more sailing options from Central Florida and reaffirm the cruise industry’s confidence in our ability to consistently deliver a world-class guest experience,” Murray stated.

Port Canaveral was the second busiest cruise port in the world in 2024. A few days ago, it hosted its busiest day in history when 25 deep-sea vessels, including six cruise ships, docked at its facilities.
