MSC Cruises will debut its newest flagship, MSC World America, next month in Miami, highlighting innovative attractions and a commitment to sustainability as the cruise line expands its presence in North America.

The 215,000-gross-ton MSC World America, the second vessel in MSC’s World-class series, will officially enter service following a naming ceremony scheduled for April 9 at the line’s new PortMiami terminal, now the largest cruise terminal globally.
The ship will offer weekly seven-night Caribbean itineraries, alternating between Eastern and Western Caribbean ports, including Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; San Juan, Puerto Rico; Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico; Isla de Roatan, Honduras; and MSC’s private Bahamian island, Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve.
In a promotional countdown, MSC Cruises enlisted actor Orlando Bloom, who previously starred in the company’s Big Game commercial, to highlight key features aboard MSC World America.
Among the ship’s standout offerings are Cliffhanger, a first-at-sea over-water swing ride located in the Family Aventura district, and Dirty Dancing in Concert, an immersive live-to-film performance staged in the World Theatre.
MSC World America will also introduce unique family-focused experiences, including an expansive LEGO-themed zone with interactive games and the first-ever LEGO parade at sea.
Additionally, MSC has partnered with Italian culinary brand Eataly to launch the first Eataly restaurant at sea, featuring authentic Italian dishes made with Italian ingredients.
Competitively, MSC World America represents a strategic move for MSC Cruises to capture a larger share of the North American cruise market, competing directly with established brands such as Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Line.
The ship is specially designed to blend European elegance with amenities tailored to American travelers, strengthening MSC’s competitive positioning.
Sustainability initiatives are central to MSC World America’s operations, which will be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), which will significantly reduce harmful emissions compared to traditional cruise fuels.
The ship also incorporates noise-reducing propellers, advanced wastewater treatment, and extensive recycling systems, aligning with MSC Cruises’ goal to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
MSC Cruises recently completed successful sea trials for MSC World America, which is set for official delivery to the cruise line on March 27, just ahead of its April debut.
