New Outdoor Adventure Park Coming to Miami-based Cruise Ship

MSC Cruises gave us a preview of its newest outdoor park onboard MSC World America. The upcoming adventure and leisure area, The Harbour, promises to be the “crowning glory” of the cruise line’s largest vessel.

The Harbour has your usual family-friendly activities like dining and lounging but it also features unique adrenaline-pumping activities. Here are some of the major attractions to keep an eye on:

The Harbour Aquapark and Its Vertical Drop Slide

Aside from a splash area, The Harbour Aquapark is home to a 90-degree vertical drop slide. The experience begins with a heart-stopping split-second freefall followed by twists and turns that will take you to the splash zone.

Other slides in the area include a raft slide that uses virtual reality to heighten the thrill.

Jaw Drop @ The Spiral

Jaw Drop is one of the longest dry slides at sea, taking passengers down 11 decks, including the World Promenade. Those with the guts to try it will enter through the jaws of a shark and catch lightning-fast glimpses of the ocean.

Swing Over the Ocean With Cliffhanger

Cliffhanger is one of the cruise line’s more heavily advertised attractions. It is the world’s only over-water swing ride. Instead of swinging over solid ground, guests are propelled over the edge of the ship and dangle over the ocean.

Catch Your Breath at the Family Dwelling Area

Not all of the attractions will get your heart racing. The Family Dwelling Area is your chance to sit down, relax, and take in panoramic ocean views with your family.

Grab a Snack at The Harbour Bar & Bites

Recharge with complimentary snacks and beverages at The Harbour Bar & Bites. It’s highly recommended for families who want to enjoy light snacks together while getting some fresh air.

The Harbour Light House was patterned after the lighthouse at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve. It has play areas and a slide that’s perfect for smaller children.

Rock-Climbing Wall for Kids

This colorful rock wall was designed for kids. They can see how high they can climb as they maneuver between the wall’s handholds and footholds.

Give Yourself a Workout With the High Trail Ropes Course

The High Trail Ropes Course will test your stamina, balance, and fear of heights. The obstacle course spans two levels, stretches over 6,200 square feet, and includes two zip lines called Sky Rails.

The Harbour is in the Family Aventura district, where the Sportsplex and Doremiland are located. As the evening settles in, the top deck will host live musical performances to keep parents entertained while their children enjoy The Harbour’s other activities.

MSC World America will enter service in April 2025. It will sail from PortMiami, offering passengers seven-night itineraries to the Caribbean.
