Holland America Line added overnight stays in three ports for its 2027-28 Australia, New Zealand, and South Pacific season, with cruises ranging from 14 to 35 days sailing from September 2027 through March 2028.
Three New Overnight Ports
Melbourne, Cairns, and Lautoka, Fiji now include overnight stays, giving passengers extended time for excursions beyond typical day visits. In Melbourne, passengers can explore cafés, galleries, and the arts district.
Cairns provides access to Great Barrier Reef snorkeling and the Kuranda Railway through rainforest slopes. Lautoka offers traditional kava ceremonies, thermal mud pools, and Hindu temples.
Three Holland America ships will sail the region: Westerdam, Zaandam, and Koningsdam.
Legendary Voyages Highlight Season
The season includes several Legendary Voyages, Holland America’s extended itineraries with themed events and destination-inspired programming.
The 26-day Australia, Coral Sea & Fiji Legendary Voyage aboard Westerdam visits 14 ports including overnight stays at Cairns and Lautoka, departing Sydney January 4, 2028.
Two 35-day Hawaii, Tahiti & Marquesas Legendary Voyages sail roundtrip from San Diego aboard Zaandam (October 14, 2027) and Koningsdam (February 19, 2028). The 34-day Legendary South Pacific Crossing aboard Westerdam sails Seattle to Sydney September 19, 2027.
Standard Australia and New Zealand Cruises
Seven 14-day Australia & New Zealand cruises sail between Sydney and Auckland aboard Westerdam, visiting Melbourne, Milford Sound, and New Zealand ports including Christchurch, Wellington, and Dunedin.
A 14-day New Zealand Discovery sails round-trip from Sydney on February 13, 2028, visiting eight New Zealand ports with Milford Sound scenic cruising.
The 16-day South Australia Discovery Holiday cruise sails round-trip from Sydney on December 19, 2027, visiting nine Australian ports, including overnight Melbourne and late-night calls at Philip Island and Hobart.
Wildlife Tours and UNESCO Sites
Over 100 wildlife and nature tours include visits to sheep farms, glowworm grottos, and fairy penguin habitats. Passengers can visit 13 UNESCO World Heritage sites, including New Caledonia’s lagoons, Gondwana Rainforests, and Sydney Opera House.
