Holland America: New 2022 Australia and NZ Cruises

Holland America Line has opened bookings for new itineraries in Australia and New Zealand this year, as the countries finally open their ports to cruise ships again.

The new voyages will run from September 25, 2022 through March 13, 2023 aboard Westerdam.

“The pent-up demand for cruises to Australia and New Zealand led us to the decision that it would be valuable to have Westerdam sail these unique itineraries that include some uncommon ports for us,” said Beth Bodensteiner, chief commercial officer of Holland America Line. “We have the utmost optimism that the entire region will be back to cruising come fall, and our guests have been waiting two years to take their dream cruise.”

Itineraries

A seven-night Alaska voyage roundtrip from Seattle has been added for September 25. The ship will then spend 36 days sailing around various islands in the South Pacific on her way to Australia and New Zealand. Calls will include ports in Hawaii, Samoa, Fiji, Vanuatu, New Caledonia, and Papua New Guinea.

Starting November 8, Westerdam will explore Australia and New Zealand on four cruises that range from 13 to 15 days each. The itineraries will be port-intensive, and also include scenic cruising through Fiordland National Park.

In January, the vessel will sail from Sydney to Singapore to reposition for a dry dock. The 16-day voyage will include two days of scenic cruising in the Great Barrier Reef.

Following the refurbishment, the vessel will operate two new itineraries before assuming its previously-announced schedule of voyages in Asia.
