Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has canceled 35 cruises from late 2025 through early 2026.

The changes, which impact four Norwegian Cruise Line ships—Norwegian Bliss, Norwegian Breakaway, Norwegian Encore, and Norwegian Joy—are attributed to fleet redeployments, according to the cruise line.
Impacted passengers are being notified of the cancellations and offered compensation, including full refunds and a 10% future cruise credit on an upcoming sailing.
Details of the Cancellations
The cancellations affect voyages originally scheduled between November 29, 2025, and April 11, 2026:
- Norwegian Bliss: Nine cruises, including sailings through the Panama Canal and along the West Coast, are canceled between November 30, 2025, and March 3, 2026. These include repositioning voyages between Los Angeles and Miami.
- Norwegian Breakaway: Ten cruises from Port Canaveral, including 3- and 4-night Bahamas itineraries, are canceled between January 6 and February 6, 2026.
- Norwegian Encore: Seven cruises between Miami and Los Angeles are impacted, with canceled departures ranging from November 29, 2025, to January 16, 2026.
- Norwegian Joy: Nine cruises, including Caribbean itineraries and a unique 23-night repositioning voyage from Port Canaveral to Seattle, are canceled between November 29, 2025, and April 11, 2026.
Passengers booked on these sailings will receive automatic refunds for their fare and any pre-paid expenses. Affected guests will also receive a 10% future cruise credit (FCC), redeemable on a later Norwegian Cruise Line voyage.
Passenger Reactions to NCL Cancellations
The cancellations have drawn mixed responses from consumers, with many expressing frustration over having plans disrupted.
One Reddit user questioned, “It makes you wonder how many ships are needed for the Caribbean?”
Meanwhile, a Facebook commenter shared their frustration: “I have two NCL cruises booked for next year, and both were on this list! Errrrrrrr.”
These cancellations come from a separate redeployment announcement in November 2024, when NCL canceled over 50 cruises for Norwegian Star, Jewel, Dawn, and Jade to reassign vessels to Caribbean and West Coast itineraries.
While Norwegian Cruise Line has not detailed where the redeployed ships will operate, new deployment plans are expected to be announced in the coming months. As the cruise line adapts its fleet strategy, passengers with upcoming bookings are advised to stay updated on potential changes.
