Princess Cruises has announced the cancellation of the November 10 sailing of the Regal Princess from Galveston, Texas, following the previous cancellations of the October 27 and November 3 sailings.

This decision comes as the cruise line continues to address significant technical issues involving the ship’s power systems.
The team successfully repaired a major issue with one of the vessel’s power generators initially. However, a second generator experienced an unexpected technical failure during preparations for the next voyage.
Given this new development, Princess Cruises determined that additional time out of service is necessary to ensure the ship’s full operational capacity and, most importantly, the safety of its guests and crew.
The cruise line expressed deep regret over the disruption and inconvenience this has caused for travelers. “We understand how disappointing this is for our guests and are truly sorry for the disruption to their plans,” stated Princess Cruises.
As compensation, affected passengers will receive a full refund of their payments and a 50% Future Cruise Credit as a gesture of goodwill.
The ship first experienced issues as it was sailing to the United States from Southampton, England. Days into the voyage, the captain announced a small fire that was quickly distinguished and contained in the engine room.
Regal Princess is scheduled to spend the winter season sailing Caribbean voyages from Galveston, Texas.
