Princess Cruises’ newest ship, Sun Princess, made its North American debut this week, arriving in Fort Lauderdale after a successful inaugural spring and summer season in the Mediterranean.
The 177,882-ton ship accommodates 4,300 guests and was first introduced in February 2024. Actress Hannah Waddingham officiated the ship’s naming ceremony in Barcelona in April.
With seven-day Caribbean cruises departing from Fort Lauderdale, Sun Princess will sail through early April 2025, offering both Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries.
The ship’s arrival in its new homeport was met with enthusiasm from passengers and VIP guests. Joseph Morris, CEO and Port Director of Port Everglades celebrated the occasion, calling Sun Princess an “extraordinary ship” with an elevated design and connection to the Princess Cruises legacy.

Its newest offering for Caribbean guests is the Sanctuary Collection, featuring exclusive serene retreats, premium amenities, and indulgent accommodations.
On the dining front, Sun Princess features 30 restaurants and bars, including collaborations with world-renowned chefs and celebrities.
