Cruiseline.com has announced their 2017 Members’ Choice Awards, put together based on over 16,000 verified cruise reviews submitted by members in 2016. Casting votes for pros and cons on their cruising experiences, the results are a true poll from real passengers.
The only site to verify that reviewers actually sailed on the ships they rate, cruiseline.com members voted not only on their overall cruising experience, but also on various amenities and services onboard.
When asked what trends we’re seeing in the cruising industry for this year, Community Manager Simon Duvall commented “Based on what we’ve seen over the past couple years, we expect to see more travelers flocking to mega-ships in 2017, with the recent debut of Harmony of the Seas and the upcoming MSC Seaside. Also we’re predicting more interactive experiences…like Escape the Rubicon puzzle room on Harmony of the Seas and the interactive video game-inspired water slide coming to MSC Seaside.”
Simon also commented on some surprises in this year’s awards, saying that “What we thought was the most interesting result was Norwegian Sky placing #2 on the list of Most Improved Ships…[it is] the first and only mainstream cruise ship to offer an unlimited open bar as part of the cruise fare. Cruisers often complain about nickel and diming, so it’s interesting to see a ship that has increased what it offers, doing well.”
Winners were determined across 10 cruise lines: Carnival, Celebrity, Costa, Cunard, Disney, Holland America, MSC, Norwegian, Princess, and Royal Caribbean.
