Celebrity Cruises has officially launched operations at Port Canaveral with the Celebrity Equinox, marking a milestone as the first Celebrity ship to homeport at the Central Florida port.
The 2,850-passenger Solstice-class vessel arrived on Tuesday, after completing a 12-day transatlantic crossing from Portugal.
The Equinox is now the 15th cruise ship to call Port Canaveral home, joining vessels from Carnival, Disney, MSC, Norwegian, Royal Caribbean, and the newly added Princess Cruises.
The ship embarked on its inaugural voyage from the port—a four-night Bahamas getaway to Bimini and Nassau—before beginning a schedule of seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries, departing every Saturday through mid-April 2025.

“It’s exciting to welcome Celebrity Cruises to our family,” said a Port Canaveral representative. “Having the Equinox homeported here solidifies our position as one of the world’s top cruise destinations.”
Itineraries and Highlights
The Equinox’s sailings feature a mix of sought-after Caribbean destinations, including St. Maarten, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Belize, and Costa Maya.
Starting in March 2025, select itineraries will also include stops at Perfect Day at CocoCay, Royal Caribbean Group’s private island in the Bahamas.
Celebrity Equinox will remain in Port Canaveral until April 2025, offering travelers access to its 20-plus dining and beverage options, full-service spa, and suite experiences such as The Retreat, which includes private lounges and concierge services.
Upcoming Deployments
Celebrity Cruises plans to expand its presence at Port Canaveral. The Celebrity Apex will replace the Equinox for the 2025-26 season.
The Edge-class ship will offer similar Caribbean itineraries and has already been confirmed for a second season through 2027.
With its entry into the Port Canaveral market, Celebrity Cruises further solidifies the port as a hub for world-class cruising, providing Central Florida travelers new opportunities to explore the Caribbean in style.
