Florida will cement its “Cruise Capital of the World” title as a new ship heads to Port Canaveral in 2024. For the first time, Celebrity Cruises will offer sailings out of the popular port, with Celebrity Equinox doing voyages from the port between December of 2024 through April of 2025.
Where Will Celebrity Equinox Sail To?

When the ship relocates to Port Canaveral, Celebrity Equinox will do a variety of itineraries to the Caribbean and The Bahamas. Ports visited will include Belize, Grand Cayman, Mexico, San Juan, and St. Maarten. Two March 2025 sailings will also visit sister-line Royal Caribbean’s private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay.
“We are so excited to unveil this new program. It provides our guests with more options to experience the natural beauty of the Caribbean, which is elevated by our personalized experiences on board,” says Laura Hodges Bethge, President of Celebrity Cruises. “As part of this expansion, we are thrilled to add Port Canaveral to our list of home ports – it is a perfect market to reach a wide mix of both in- and out-of-state travelers looking for fun in the Caribbean sun.”
The new deployment has made Celebrity the seventh cruise line to sail from the space coast. The other homeporting lines in Port Canaveral are Carnival Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean International, Norwegian Cruise Line, Disney Cruise Line, MSC Cruises, and UK operator Marella Cruises.
Celebrity will have several ships homeporting around the various Florida points during the 2024-2025 season. One of the fleet’s newest ships — Celebrity Apex — and one of the oldest — Celebrity Summit — will sail out of Port Everglades in the fall of 2024. And in January 2025, Celebrity Constellation will begin sailing from Port Tampa Bay.
Tuesday’s announcement means more Celebrity cruise ships will visit Perfect Day at CocoCay in the coming months.
