Celebrity Ship Makes Comeback Following $50 Million Overhaul

Celebrity Infinity continued its European cruises after major renovations that included the introduction of new luxury staterooms, a bigger dining area, and a refreshed lounge.

Celebrity Cruises transformed Michael’s Club into The Retreat Lounge, a premium area where most refurbishments occurred. It boasts an exclusive restaurant, suites, its sundeck, and other upscale amenities.

The lounge’s interior has been redesigned with cream and earthy hues. Meanwhile, the dining area, Luminae, is bigger and offers an additional 30 seats. It offers live entertainment, complimentary drinks, and gourmet snacks.

Toward the vessel’s aft are new luxury staterooms. The Sunset Suites feature panoramic views and spacious balconies. Occupants are entitled to butler service and access to The Retreat Lounge and all its facilities.

“We strive to exceed guest expectations, from elevated service onboard and thoughtful amenities to interior spaces designed to make guests feel at home in their surroundings,” declared Keith Lane, Celebrity Cruises’ senior vice president of hotel operations.

He concluded, “The enhancements to Celebrity Infinity, particularly the transformation of The Retreat Lounge, epitomizes our commitment to providing an unmatched experience for our guests, ensuring that every journey with Celebrity Cruises is memorable.”

Weighing 91,000 tons, the 2001-built Celebrity Infinity is one of the cruise line’s oldest and smallest ships. This year’s upgrades are part of fleetwide renovations, estimated to cost Celebrity Cruises $500 million.

Infinity offers a quieter vacation compared to other vessels, which some adults may appreciate. There is a fair selection of dining options onboard (though many of them come at an extra cost), two outdoor pools, a Solarium, shows, games, classes, and more.

Those interested in experiencing its more modern amenities firsthand can join 7-night itineraries visiting the Mediterranean. These will stop at Santorini, Rhodes, Mykonos, and Hydra. There are also 12-night sailings that explore the Canaries, Spain, and Morocco.
