MSC Seascape Crew Member went Overboard
A 30-year-old crew member from MSC Seascape went overboard off the coast of Puerto Rico on Tuesday night.
The incident occurred approximately 30 feet above the water line and was witnessed, prompting immediate action by the ship.
The Coast Guard also mobilized a Jayhawk helicopter, deploying a marker buoy to track sea currents.
Despite focused efforts north of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, the search was empty, and the ship was released.
This incident occurred shortly after the MSC Seascape departed San Juan, Puerto Rico, for Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.
Carnival Jubilee Completes Sea Trials
Carnival Jubilee has completed its sea trials, marking a significant step towards its inaugural voyage from Galveston, Texas, scheduled for December 23.
During the trials, a team of officers, technicians, and engineers tested the ship’s technical, mechanical, and navigational systems.
Carnival Jubilee is set to join the fleet on December 4 officially. The new ship features a Texas star on its bow, honoring its homeport of Galveston.
Royal Caribbean Cancels Shore Excursions to Blue Lagoon Island
Royal Caribbean is canceling shore excursions to Blue Lagoon Island until November 23.
A letter to booked guests said, “We’re currently working with authorities to evaluate a boat incident during a shore excursion in Nassau, Bahamas. In light of this incident, we have canceled all Blue Lagoon tours through November 23, including your Blue Lagoon Island Deluxe Beach Break. We’ve issued a full refund to your original form of payment.”
One of its tour boats took on water from waves on Tuesday morning.
Carnival Panorama Cancels Two More Sailings
Carnival Panorama canceled two more sailings after waiting for a space to open at the dry dock.
The delay is also canceling both the December 9 and December 16 voyages.
The ship is expected to return to service on December 23, the same date as Carnival Jubilee’s debut.
