Disney Cruise Line has canceled an upcoming visit to Nouméa, New Caledonia, for the Disney Wonder due to ongoing regional civil unrest.

The cruise ship, which is currently on its South Pacific voyage, was scheduled to stop in Nouméa on October 15, 2024, but that day will now be an extra day at sea.
Updated Itinerary for the Disney Wonder
The Disney Wonder departed Honolulu, Hawaii, on October 3 and is set to arrive in Sydney, Australia, on October 19, marking its second year of South Pacific sailings.
While Nouméa was initially on the itinerary, the ship will continue to stop at Samoa and Fiji before reaching Sydney.
The decision to skip Nouméa comes in response to heightened tensions and civil unrest in New Caledonia. Riots first erupted in May 2024, triggered by a controversial voting law commemorating France’s colonial rule over the territory.
The U.S. Department of State has issued a Level 3 travel advisory for the region, urging travelers to reconsider visits due to the ongoing unrest and criminal activity.
Prioritizing the Safety of Passengers
By canceling the Nouméa stop, Disney Cruise Line continues to prioritize the safety of its passengers and crew while maintaining an unforgettable experience through alternative destinations in the South Pacific.
