Royal Caribbean’s Ship Set for $100 Million Makeover with New Pools, Bars, and Suites

Royal Caribbean is giving Allure of the Seas an over $100 million “glow-up.”

After the ship’s refurbishments, the 15-year-old vessel will have over 35 food and beverage options, adrenaline-pumping attractions, and renovated lounge areas, keeping guests comfortable and thoroughly entertained as it travels across Europe.

“From the new Icon and Utopia of the Seas to the more than $100 million transformation of Allure of the Seas, we’ve upped the ante threefold on the different ways vacationers can get away and make memories with Royal Caribbean. Allure will be reimagined with the best of Royal Caribbean and what travelers love,” announced Jay Schneider, Royal Caribbean International’s chief product innovation officer.

Scheduled to re-enter service in April 2025, the cruise line shared that its water-themed amenities will be reinvigorated. This includes the pool deck; the adults-only Solarium; the three water slides: the Cyclone, Typhoon, and the SuperCell champagne bowl; Splashaway Bay; the poolside bar Lime & Coconut; and the snack outlet El Loco Fresh.

The milestone renovation also boasts some of the cruise line’s latest nighttime hotspots. Previously only available on Utopia of the Seas, the Pesky Parrot will serve fruity cocktails, hard liquor, frozen drinks, and more.

Meanwhile, the Mason Jar Southern Restaurant & Bar will offer Southern comfort food and live country music, making Allure of the Seas the third vessel to have the attraction. Finally, passengers can catch live games, play arcade classics, and enjoy ice-cold brews at The Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade.

Family-Friendly Adventures

The newly refurbished cruise ship will also have family-friendly adventures like the Ultimate Abyss, the Royal Escape Room, and Laser Tag.

Adventure Ocean, with its interactive art, science, and tech experience, will have a new layout. Social 298 promises a “360-degree transformation” that features music, video games, movies, and other recreational activities.

Suites With 200-degree Ocean Views

Allure will also host new luxury accommodations with its Ultimate Panoramic Suites. Located above the bridge, their strategic location allows occupants to admire 200-degree ocean views.

The Oasis-class vessel will retain classic favorites like its air, ice, water, and stage performances, rock climbing walls, and FlowRider surf simulators. Popular food and beverage venues like Giovanni’s Table, Chops Grille, Schooner Bar, and the Bow & Stern English Pub will also return.

The extensive refurbishment is in line with Royal Caribbean’s Royal Amplified program, which began in 2018. Allure will enter drydock in March 2025 and resume sailing in April 2025.

It will be one of six ships sailing from Europe and will visit popular destinations like Palma de Mallorca, Spain; Rome and Florence, Italy; and Provence, France for 7 nights.

It will reposition in Florida in November 2025 for a series of eastern Caribbean vacations, with visits to Royal Caribbean’s Perfect Day at CocoCay and the new Royal Beach Club in the Bahamas.
