Take a peek inside Carnival Jubilee’s underwater tech-themed space

As Carnival Cruise Line prepares for Carnival Jubilee’s naming ceremony on Saturday, the company shared an inside look at a feature in the Currents zone, its technology-rich underwater-themed area. Here’s what you can expect from Carnival’s immersive environment.

While Shores on Deck 8 focuses on life above the water, Currents dives deep into the ocean, using innovative visuals and sounds to help passengers develop a new appreciation for everything beneath.

Seaquest: A Fun Sub Adventure

Seaquest: A Fun Sub Adventure transforms the promenade into a submarine-like environment. Six massive LED screens along the walls and a 100-foot LED ceiling simulate deep ocean marine environments with matching lights and music to give it an otherworldly feel.

During the journey, watch out for schools of jellyfish, whale sharks, and other wondrous creatures of the sea.

Changing the Currents adds an interactive element to the experience. Passengers can choose from 6 underwater themes: a freezing arctic environment with orcas and penguins, tropical coral reefs with sea turtles and colorful fish, and even a large cave filled with sharks. Like Seaquest, each environment offers different sounds and lights.

Kids will love Create a Fish, which lets them create their fish and see them come to life on the screens.

Carnival’s Sr. Director of Brand Experience, Glenn Aprile, described the venue, “This is the first time that we’ve ever had a zone-wide interactive experience where guests will actually have the opportunity to select the environment that they want to see when they’re in this space.”

Drinking and Dining Options

Carnival Jubilee Dr. Inks

You don’t have to go far if you get hungry or need a drink. Dr. Inks, Ph.D., is faithful to the area’s undersea theme, while the Golden Mermaid offers a more upscale cocktail experience. Dr. Inks’ has fun color-changing concoctions, layered shots, and garnishes like seafoam and boba pearls.

For a satisfying meal, head to the Currents’ onsite restaurant, Emeril’s Bistro 717—the third Emeril restaurant at sea. Enjoy mouthwatering Creole dishes like BBQ shrimp, gumbo, jambalaya, fried oysters, and more.
