The new MSC World America isn’t just another new ship like the others in the MSC fleet. It’s a new edition of the best of MSC with many changes made to appeal to the North American market.
The ship design looks different from other MSC ships, but something about it seems familiar. You might notice it from the exterior, but once inside, you might feel that you boarded a Royal Caribbean Oasis-class ship.
However, further investigation reveals that while the general appearance may be similar, MSC World America differs in many ways.
The ship does incorporate some traditional designs of MSC ships, but the first noticeable difference is the absence of the Swarovski staircase. Don’t fret. It’s still on the ship, but it’s been moved to the exclusive Yacht Club.
The entire décor of World America contrasts with the other beautiful ships in the fleet. The interior designs are more subtle and subdued than those on other ships. The elegance shows through the simplicity. Classic luxury exudes subtle tones that seem to be trendy in North America.
Here are 10 new features on the MSC World America not found on the other MSC sailing North America (Sister ship MSC World Europa does have many of these features.)
1. World America beats the other MSC ships in the fleet.
She is 27% larger than the current largest MSC ship sailing from North America. That means she has a greater passenger capacity of 6,762 guests. And there is more space for venues and restaurants on board.
2. MSC World America has adopted a district concept like the Royal Caribbean neighborhood layout.
This design helps with navigating the ship. World America’s seven districts include:
- Aqua Deck – Pool area with pools, Aquapark, and whirlpools.
- Family Aventura – this family-friendly district has something for everybody, including new thrill options.
- Galleria – The main passage of the ship, Galleria is lined with restaurants, shopping, live music, and entertainment spaces.
- The Terraces –This district has shops, dining, bars, a spa, and a comedy club.

The Guests here have access to a butler, private dining, lounge, restaurants, bars, and sundeck. Unlimited drinks also come as a perk in this luxurious space.
5. Zen is an adults-only retreat that spans two decks.
The Zen area has a bar, plenty of loungers, and even cabana rentals. The Botanic Garden Pool on the higher deck also has a bar that features botanical-style cocktails. Cabana rentals there are also available.

There are pools, water slides, and splash zones for kids to enjoy with their families.
8. Entertainment on World America caters to the North American market.
Two of the new shows are Dirty Dancing in Concert and Queen Symphonic, which celebrate the music of Queen accompanied by an orchestra.
9. Family Aventura district covers several decks and is the place for thrills and chills.
The two-level ropes course is located in the area known as The Harbour. One of the most interesting attractions there might be the Cliffhanger, a swing that hangs 160 feet above the sea.
10. That open shark mouth on Deck 20 swallows guests.
After swirling 350 feet in the corkscrew tube, the rider emerges on the World Promenade.
