Carnival Legend has officially arrived at the Port of San Francisco, marking its debut as a seasonal homeport for the 2,124-guest Spirit-class ship.
This move increases Carnival Cruise Line’s presence on the West Coast, joining Carnival Miracle in offering expanded cruise options from California.
Inaugural Call to San Francisco

To commemorate the ship’s inaugural call, port officials and the ship’s senior officers, including Captain Mark Harlow, attended a traditional plaque exchange ceremony.
“The Carnival Legend team is proud to homeport in beautiful San Francisco for the very first time,” said Captain Mark Harlow.
“We’re looking forward to sailing guests on unique cruises, connecting this vibrant city with the stunning landscapes of Alaska’s most popular destinations.”
He added, “Our 965 team members are ready to deliver happy and memorable cruise vacations to our guests from this incredible city.”
Carnival Legend was refurbished last May in France and received new venues such as the Heroes Tribute Bar & Lounge, Chef’s Table, and Dreams Studio, along with enhancements to the Fahrenheit 555 steakhouse and Cloud 9 Spa.
The ship also features popular Carnival amenities like Guy’s Burger Joint, BlueIguana Cantina, RedFrog Pub, and the WaterWorks Aqua Park.

A 15-day Carnival Journeys cruise to Hawaii will depart on September 21 and visit Kahului, Honolulu, Nawiliwili, and Hilo.
Following the Hawaii voyage, the ship will reposition in Galveston, Texas, for a series of Western Caribbean cruises.
