Carnival Cruise Line marked 15 years of operations from Seattle with a celebration aboard Carnival Luminosa, coinciding with the launch of the 2025 Alaska cruise season.

The event welcomed port officials and local leaders, backing Carnival’s longstanding partnership with the city and its economic impact on the region.
In the name of community support, Carnival donated $20,000 to FareStart, a Seattle nonprofit focused on job training and food access.
The funds will provide 800 vouchers through FareStart’s Mobile Community Market, helping local families access fresh produce and staples.
“Seattle has been instrumental in helping us grow our Alaska cruise offerings,” said Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy.
“We’re proud to celebrate 15 years of unforgettable cruises from this vibrant city and to support organizations like FareStart that make a difference in the community.”
Since launching seasonal service from Seattle in 2010, Carnival has expanded its offerings, including shore power initiatives and new itineraries such as round-trip Hawaii cruises.
Carnival Luminosa’s arrival in Seattle follows a 28-day repositioning voyage from Brisbane, Australia.
Alongside Carnival Spirit—which also returns this season and was recently named “Best Alaska Cruise” by USA Today’s 10Best—Luminosa will offer seven-day sailings through Alaska.
The itineraries include scenic cruising in Tracy Arm Fjord and visits to Skagway, Juneau, Ketchikan, and Victoria, British Columbia.
With two ships homeported in Seattle this summer, Carnival will welcome more than 100,000 guests aboard its Alaska cruises in 2025.
