Celebrity Ascent Sea Trials

The sea trials are the last major milestone in the construction of a new cruise ship, and they ensure that all critical systems are operating properly and the ship is ready to set sail with guests aboard.

Celebrity Ascent was put through a series of tests dealing with the vessel’s propulsion, stopping, turns, maneuvering, and emergency systems tests. The ship passed all of the tests with flying colors, and she is now ready for her November debut.

Celebrity Ascent’s Cruise Itinerary

Celebrity Ascent is scheduled to begin sailing in December with a four-night Western Caribbean preview cruise out of Fort Lauderdale.

The ship will then offer a variety of 7-night Eastern Caribbean, Western Caribbean, and Bahamas/Mexico sailings through the winter months.

In April 2024, Celebrity Ascent will reposition from Florida to Europe via a 13-night transatlantic cruise from Fort Lauderdale to Barcelona.

The ship will spend the summer in the Mediterranean before returning to Fort Lauderdale in late October 2024.

The vessel will join the other three ships in Celebrity’s Edge-class, Celebrity Edge, Celebrity Apex, and Celebrity Beyond.
