Another Cruise Line Raises Gratuities

Princess Cruises announced that they’ll be raising gratuities effective December 15, 2016. Currently the rate is $12.95 per person, per day. In December, the rate jumps to $13.50 per guest per day.

Increase Breakdown

According to the Princess Cruises website, the new prices are as follows:

  • $15.50 per guest per day for suites
  • $14.50 per guest per day for mini-suites and club class
  • $13.50 per guest per day for interior, ocean-view or balcony stateroom

Second Time 

This will be the second time that Princess has raised gratuities over the past year. In January the cruise line raised them from $11.50 to $12.95.

The increase put Princess Cruises in line with Celebrity Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, and Royal Caribbean. Carnival Cruise Line is still $12.95 per person per day.
