The first member of Virgin Voyages’ fleet, Scarlet Lady, has been scheduled for a drydock from November 14 to 28, 2024.
During the two weeks, the 110,000-ton ship will receive new suites, a refreshed menu, interior upgrades, overlooking cabanas, and more.

Virgin Voyages VP of Fleet Experience Nicole Huang described the refurbishment, “We’re listening and giving travelers more of what they’ve asked for–this includes more suites, luxe new cabanas and fresh, vibey dining concepts–so Sailors can truly live the life of a rockstar.”
Which Common Areas Are Getting a Glow-Up?
The Razzle Dazzle, the ship’s vegetarian-friendly venue, will introduce a new evening menu with Chinese-inspired dishes and craft cocktails. Meanwhile, its communal tables will be replaced by more intimate booths, elevating its cozy and elegant ambiance.
Coffee bar Ground Club Too will become a full-service bar at night with cocktails. Its lounge will feature richly colored benches, countertop seating, and couches.
The deck overlooking the Aquatic Club will have opulent daybeds with curtains installed in its six VIP cabanas. These can be reserved ahead of time.
The steak and seafood restaurant, At The Wake, will be modified with its high-end wines on full display, the casino will be larger with more slot machines and exclusive areas, and the Redemption Spa will get a couples treatment room.
The Scarlet Lady will also have a new mermaid on its bow.
Large Premium Suites
Cruisers looking for more premium onboard accommodations will want to check out the new “Seriously Suite RockStar Quarters.” Cabins from deck 11 were converted to make way for the Rock Star Quarters.
Developed in partnership with renowned designer Tom Dixon, these massive staterooms will offer 352 square feet of living space, European king beds, sophisticated vanity areas, Peek-a-Boo showers, record vinyls, and hammocks. |
Huang mentioned a high demand for extra-luxurious lodgings like these. “…our Massive Suite is often booked a year or more in advance. We’re answering in a big way by adding suites, so more people can live their best lives,” she added.
After the Dry Dock
After the November renovations, guests can enjoy the revitalized ship through a 16-night sailing from Rome to Miami.
It will then embark on several Caribbean voyages, stopping at sought-after destinations like Bimini, Puerto Plata, San Juan, Roatán, Costa Maya, and St. Croix. All of its sailings will stop by the Beach Club, Virgin Voyages’ exclusive resort in the Bahamas.
Earlier this month, Virgin Voyages introduced its Wedding Programs offer by having founder Richard Branson officiate three weddings onboard its vessels.
