New Virgin Voyages Terminal Opens at PortMiami
Virgin Voyages’ new PortMiami terminal is officially open.
The line held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the 132,000 square foot, LEED gold certified Terminal V on February 13.
The building is three stories tall, and features a geometric design inspired by palm trees. It is the home of Virgin’s first cruise ship, Scarlet Lady, which currently operates four and five-night Caribbean cruises.

Carnival Shifts Ships Around
Carnival’s ships are doing the shuffle.
Carnival Elation will be moving from Port Canaveral to Jacksonville in April, and will stay there through October 13.
Carnival Freedom will move from Miami to Canaveral to pick up Elation’s previous itineraries there from April to October 15.
Carnival Spirit will take on several sailings previously assigned to Carnival Freedom, including a Panama Canal Journeys voyage. In May, Spirit will begin sailing to Alaska from Seattle.
And finally, Carnival Splendor will also reposition to Seattle, operating Alaska cruises currently assigned to Carnival Freedom. Once Splendor is done in Alaska, it will return to Australia.
Carnival plans to have its entire fleet back in service by May.

Holland America Giving Away 10 Alaska Cruise Suites
Holland America will be giving away 10 Alaska cruise suites between now and March 15.
The line has launched its “Love Letters to Alaska” contest, where entrants write why they love Alaska, or why they’d like to visit someday.
A panel of judges will choose nine winners who will stay in a Vista or Signature Suite, and one grand prize winner who will stay in a Neptune Suite. Winners will be chosen in early April.
