Carnival App Update: More Food & Safety Features

Carnival Cruise Line has announced a major update for its HUB smartphone app, which will include enhanced food and drink features, spa and excursion booking capabilities, virtual queuing for onboard venues, and updated health and safety information.

“In today’s world, smart phones have become ubiquitous for travelers, and they provide a great platform to help our guests make the most of their cruise vacation. We continue to leverage the popularity of the HUB App to enhance our guests’ pre-cruise and onboard experience,” said Ron Dillehay, Carnival’s vice president of guest marketing & technology.

Here’s a closer look at what the app update will entail:

Expanded Food Delivery & More

The HUB app’s pizza and beer delivery function will be expanded to include the delivery of a variety of food and beverage offerings anywhere on the ship.

As well, menus for all restaurants and bars will be available in a digital form using QR codes in those venues.

The update will also include dining check-in functionality to additional guests and venues, in addition to Your Time Dining.

Virtual Reservations & Queuing

Soon, passengers will be able to reserve seats virtually for various venues on the ship, and be alerted when it’s time to arrive at the event or activity.

Guests will also be able to check in to virtual queues for select locations onboard, including guest services, and be alerted when their place in line is ready.

The app will be able to be used to reserve tickets for BOLT, the roller coaster on Mardi Gras when the ship sails from Port Canaveral on July 31.

New Safety Content

Travelers will be able to check in for their cruise via the HUB app, with the ability to also submit necessary health information, including a health questionnaire and other steps prior to departure.

The app will also include new safety content, including notifications to help guests complete their muster check-in on the ship.

Other enhancements to the HUB app will be rolled out in the coming months.

These updates are in addition to the variety of functions already present on the app, including a chat feature between passengers, a full listing of food, beverage, and entertainment options each day, kid’s program check-in information, and easy access to onboard Sail & Sign accounts.
