Celebrity Takes Delivery of Third Edge-Class Ship
Celebrity Cruises took delivery of its third Edge-class ship, Celebrity Beyond, on Wednesday. The handover ceremony was held onboard at the shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France, and attended by cruise company and shipyard executives as well as the ship’s crew members.
Celebrity Beyond is scheduled to debut on April 27 from Southampton, England. It will operate a series of Mediterranean cruises this summer before repositioning to Port Everglades to sail in the Caribbean this fall.

Carnival Sensation Beached at Scrapyard
Another Fantasy-class ship has officially been scrapped. Carnival Sensation was beached at the Aliaga shipyard in Turkey on Tuesday, as workers prepare to begin the dismantling process.
Carnival sold the ship to the scrapyard for an estimated $11 million. She was previously scheduled to return to service from Mobile, Alabama, but instead never resumed cruising. Carnival Ecstasy took over the Mobile sailings in Sensation’s place.
Carnival Sensation is the fifth Fantasy-class ship to be scrapped since the shutdown began, following Carnival Fantasy, Imagination, Inspiration, and Fascination.

Norwegian Cruise Line Launching NFT Collection
Norwegian Cruise Line has announced that it is launching the cruise industry’s first collection of NFTs.
Six NFTs will be opening for auction and sale on April 13 on the line’s upcoming NFT marketplace. The pieces were created by Manuel Di Rita, who also designed the hull art for upcoming ships Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Viva.
All proceeds from the auction and sales will be donated to non-profit organization Teach For America.
