Carnival Sensation Beached at Scrapyard

Another Fantasy-class ship has officially been scrapped. Carnival Sensation was beached at the Aliaga shipyard in Turkey on Tuesday, as workers prepare to begin the dismantling process.

Carnival sold the ship to the scrapyard for an estimated $11 million. She was previously scheduled to return to service from Mobile, Alabama, but instead never resumed cruising. Carnival Ecstasy took over the Mobile sailings in Sensation’s place.

Carnival Sensation is the fifth Fantasy-class ship to be scrapped since the shutdown began, following Carnival Fantasy, Imagination, Inspiration, and Fascination.
