Disney Wish Delivered in Germany
Disney Cruise Line officially owns its fifth ship, as Disney Wish has now been delivered. The company’s newest ship was handed over during a ceremony at Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany yesterday.
The 144,000 gross ton Disney Wish is now headed for her new home in Port Canaveral, Florida. Wish’s official maiden voyage is set for July 14.
The last time the company took delivery of a ship was 10 years ago with Disney Fantasy.
Two additional ships are on order for deliveries in 2024 and 2025.

Princess Lodge in Alaska Closing Early This Season
Princess Cruises will be closing its Copper River Wilderness Lodge on at the end of the week because of staffing shortages.
Impacted passengers are being offered different itineraries at one of the other four lodges that will remain open through the season.
Guests often pair a land-based Alaska trip with their cruise to explore the national parks and other inland sights by train.
Cozumel Welcomes Around 10,000 Cruise Visitors in One Day
Cozumel is getting back to pre-pandemic cruise numbers, recently seeing its busiest day since the industry restart.
Wednesday brought 10,000 cruise passengers between, Allure of the Seas, Grandeur of the Seas, Carnival Breeze, Ecstasy, Conquest, and MSC Seashore.
Mexico’s Ministry of Tourism reported that in 2019 the island saw 4 million cruisers… and so far the first quarter of 2022 has brought in 600,000 passengers.
Cozumel has three cruise piers, all located on the west side of the island.
