FBI Investigating a Death on Carnival Sunshine
The FBI Columbia field office is investigating what it’s considering a suspicious death on Carnival Sunshine late last month.
An unresponsive woman was found on the ship on February 27th, and after life-saving measures were performed was pronounced dead on board. In a statement, Carnival said that the deceased and her husband were debarked in Nassau and Bahamian authorities were performing an autopsy.
When the ship arrived back to its homeport of Charleston on Saturday, the FBI began an investigation on board. Officials say the incident is isolated and there was no threat to other guests.
