As the health situation evolves, cruise lines are always adjusting their health and safety policies — including whether guests need to wear masks onboard.
To keep you informed with the latest information, we’ve gathered the current masking requirements for each of the major cruise lines as of March 3, 2022. As things change, we will update this article.
Azamara
Policy: Unless eating or drinking, passengers must wear a mask in indoor public areas.

Carnival Cruise Line
Policy: Passengers ages two and up must wear a mask in indoor public areas, unless eating or drinking. Effective March 1, 2022, mask-wearing will be recommended, but not mandatory. Masks may still be required for certain venues or events.

Celebrity Cruises
Policy: Masks are not required onboard for vaccinated guests. They are required for unvaccinated guests under 12 in indoor public areas unless eating or drinking.

Cunard
Policy: Unless eating or drinking, passengers must wear a mask in indoor public areas.

Disney Cruise Line
Policy: For sailings from the United States beginning March 11, masks will not be required in most indoor locations on Disney Cruise Line’s ships. Kids two to five years old will still be required to wear masks in the kids’ club spaces and Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.

Holland America Line
Policy: Unless eating or drinking, passengers must wear a mask in indoor public areas. Effective March 1, 2022, mask-wearing will be recommended, but not mandatory. Masks may still be required for certain venues or events.

MSC Cruises
Policy: Through April 22, fully vaccinated guests must wear masks unless they are in venues designated for vaccinated guests only, including select bars, lounges, restaurants, shows, the casino, the spa thermal area, or during activities geared towards those who are vaccinated. Unvaccinated kids from 3 to 11 years old must wear masks indoors.
Starting April 23, fully vaccinated guests will not be required to wear masks anywhere on board. Unvaccinated three and four year olds must wear masks indoors.

Norwegian Cruise Line
Policy: As of March 1, 2022, Norwegian Cruise Line passengers are not required to wear a mask anywhere on the ship.

Oceania Cruises
Policy: As of March 1, 2022, Oceania Cruises passengers are not required to wear a mask anywhere on the ship.

Princess Cruises
Policy: Unless eating or drinking, passengers must wear a mask in indoor public areas. Effective March 1, 2022, mask-wearing will be recommended, but not mandatory. Masks may still be required for certain venues or events.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises
Policy: As of March 1, 2022, Regent Seven Seas Cruises passengers are not required to wear a mask anywhere on the ship.

Royal Caribbean
Policy: Masks are not required onboard for vaccinated guests. They are required for unvaccinated guests under 12 in indoor public areas unless eating or drinking. They’re also required for all kids two and older (regardless of vaccination status) in the Adventure Ocean kids’ program.
