Wheel of Fortune is giving contestants and home viewers free cruises courtesy of Holland America Line (HAL).

HAL announced its partnership with the classic game show on Tuesday. From January 13 to 17, Wheel of Fortune’s cruise giveaways will be exclusively sponsored by Holland America—a first for the longest-running syndicated game show in America.
To commemorate the occasion, the Wheel of Fortune set will be transformed to look like a port, with a matching backdrop and Holland America Line flags and logo.
The one-week period has been dubbed “Cruise Week.” Each day of the week will pay tribute to a different destination, highlighting the variety of sailings offered by the cruise line:
- Monday, January 13: Alaska cruise
- Tuesday, January 14: Mediterranean cruise
- Wednesday, January 15: Canada & New England cruise
- Thursday, January 16: Northern Europe cruise
- Friday, January 17: Caribbean cruise
The cruises are seven days long, valued at $7,000 to $9,000, and include complimentary roundtrip airfare. These prizes will be featured in different Wheel of Fortune segments like the Wedge (prize on the wheel) and Third Round Prize Puzzles. Home viewers can also become lucky winners through the At-Home Sweepstakes and Fan Friday portions of the program.
HAL Chief Marketing Officer Kacy Cole said the sponsorship will allow the company to reach new audiences. “By creating our own Cruise Week and partnering with a celebrated show like Wheel of Fortune, our sponsorship allows us to connect with a captivated audience who are both avid Holland America Line cruisers and new to our brand,” Cole announced.
$25 Deposit for Start Your Journey Sale
During Cruise Week, HAL is also giving away $25 deposits that can be used in the Start Your Journey Sale. Interested cruisers can take advantage of the deposit by booking select cruises and Cruisetours (a combination of ocean and land travel) until January 20, 2025. The deposit can be applied toward a handful of HAL sailings from summer 2025 to spring 2026.
Combining bookings with the Have It All premium upgrade opens up additional perks like 50% lower deposits, shore excursion credits, additional amenities, balcony and stateroom upgrades, reduced fares, Wi-Fi access, and specialty dining. Additionally, bookings made by January 31 will be entitled to onboard credits of up to $400.
Holland America isn’t the first cruise line to capitalize on Wheel of Fortune’s immense popularity. Last year, Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) introduced its own shipboard version of the 50-year-old gameshow. Though slightly different, people have been forming long queues on NCL vessels, awaiting their turn at the wheel.
