An engineering marvel unlike any other, the Panama Canal allows access between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, and thanks to Holland America, savvy travelers can experience the full journey on one of four ships on a 14 to 23 night cruise.

2022 Full-Transit Sailings

The 2022-2023 Panama Canal season begins on October 2, 2022 when Nieuw Amsterdam sails from Vancouver bound for Port Everglades on a 21 night cruise. Travelers looking for a shorter, but no less epic, adventure can board the ship on October 8 in San Diego for a 17 night voyage. The cruise visits Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and the Bahamas in addition to the full, daytime transit of the Canal.

Later in October, Eurodam will sail from Seattle on October 8 for a 21 night voyage, also boarding passengers in Vancouver (for a 20 night cruise) and San Diego (for a 16 night cruise), bound for Port Everglades, visiting Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica, plus the full, daytime transit of the Canal.

Finally in 2022, Zuiderdam sails from San Diego on November 17, 2022 and April 4, 2023, visiting Columbia, Nicaragua, Mexico, Costa Rica and Guatemala and a full, daytime transit of the Canal before arriving in Port Everglades 14 nights later.

On April 9, 2023, Eurodam departs Port Everglades bound for San Diego (15 nights), Vancouver (19 nights) and Seattle (20 nights). In addition to the full, daytime transit of the Canal, the cruise calls on Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Colombia, and Canada.

The cruise will visit Mexico, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Colombia, Aruba, Turks and Caicos, and Canada. On April 15, Volendam operates a similar 17 to 21 night itinerary from Port Everglades.

Shorter Cruises Offer a Taste of the Canal

For travelers looking for a shorter getaway but who still want to experience the Canal, Holland America Line will offer a selection of 10 and 11 night Panama Canal Sunfarer cruises from Port Everglades offering a partial Canal transit and an exploration of Gatun Lake in the center of Panama. These cruises in Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 will sail on Eurodam and Volendam.

Cruise fares start at low as $1,999 per person based on double occupancy.
