Have 116 Days? This Might Be Your Ultimate World Cruise in 2025

MSC Cruises has opened bookings for its MSC World Cruise 2025 with an entirely new itinerary aboard MSC Magnifica.

The 116-night voyage around the world is scheduled to visit 50 destinations in 21 countries, featuring 22 ports that have never been featured on an MSC World Cruise before — plus seven overnight stays. The journey will take guests to five continents, crossing three of the world’s largest oceans and sailing over 30,000 nautical miles.

Passengers can embark on the cruise any day from January 4-7, 2025 in one of four European ports: Civitavecchia (Rome), Genoa, Marseille, or Barcelona. The ship will then sail to Casablanca to experience Morocco’s markets and medinas. One week into the trip, guests will spend their first day at sea followed by a day trip to Cape Verde’s capital of Mindelo.

After crossing the Atlantic, the ship will spend ten days exploring South America, including overnights in Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, and Valparaiso. It’ll then visit the Falkland Islands and the southernmost point of South America — Ushuaia, Argentina.

After that, guests will take an extended voyage through New Zealand and Australia starting with the Northern Islands of New Zealand — a popular destination for big-game fishing and learning about the country’s indigenous Maori people. In eight days, the ship will visit Auckland, Tauranga, Napier, Christchurch, and Dunedin, followed by the Milford Sound fjord in southern New Zealand.

Marking the second month of sailing, MSC Magnfica will call in Sydney, Australia to embark on a 19-day journey around the southern and western coasts of the country. Guests will visit Eden, famous for its food and beaches; the hip city of Melbourne; and Adelaide and Penneshaw which are full of outdoor adventures. They’ll also be able to explore the historic city of Albany, explore the vibrant beach town of Busselton, and take in the famous Margaret River wine region. Perth’s laid-back vibes and Broome’s beaches will cap off passengers’ time in Australia.

Arriving in Asia, the ship will call in Benoa, Bali, Indonesia, with an overnight stay. After that, Magnifica will sail to Singapore, and then the Asia part of the trip will be completed with visits to Port Klang and Penang in Malaysia, as well as the island of Phuket in Thailand.

During the voyage across the Indian Ocean, guests can visit the capital of Sri Lanka — Colombo — followed by the port of Aqaba in Jordan where they can visit the archaeological site Petra. Next up is the Red Sea resort of Sham El-Sheik, the ancient sites in Luxor (from the port of Safaga), then a transit through the Suez Canal and onto Alexandria from where guests can visit Cairo and the Pyramids of Giza.
