Royal Caribbean International has announced its search for the godmother of its newest ship, Wonder of the Seas.
The search begins today on TikTok — United States TikTok users can take part in the #SearchForWonderMom contest by nominating a mom who Royal Caribbean says “inspires those around them to discover, wonder, and make memories.”
Submissions will be open through Monday, May 16 at 11:59 pm eastern time. The winner will be announced on Royal Caribbean’s TikTok this summer.

“The role of a Godmother is an important and longstanding maritime tradition, and it began with naming prominent public figures to now recognizing everyday heroes like moms,” said Michael Bayley, president and CEO, Royal Caribbean International. “Wonder of the Seas is designed to inspire wonder and awe in children and travelers of all ages. Moms do just that and more day in and day out.”
Wonder‘s godmother will bestow a blessing of safekeeping on the ship, its crew, and the guests who will sail on her in the years to come during a ceremony in Port Canaveral in December. The honoree and her family will also set sail on a cruise to Royal Caribbean’s private island Perfect Day at CocoCay.
Wonder of the Seas’ godmother and her family will get to take a vacation that includes a seven-night cruise in the ship’s Ultimate Family Suite, three nights in a five-star hotel prior to the voyage, and up to $1,000 in spending money.
