Scarlet Lady Arrives in New York City

After departing Portsmouth, England on September 3 for a transatlantic crossing, Virgin Voyages’ ship Scarlet Lady has officially arrived in New York City.

Last month the vessel sailed six “Summer Soiree” cruises through the English Channel from Portsmouth.

Now that Scarlet Lady is in the U.S., she will wait to begin a series of four and five-night voyages from Miami beginning in October.

Carnival Announces Casino Changes

Carnival Cruise Line has announced that as of September 11, only active players and their companions will be allowed into its onboard casinos fleetwide.

In keeping with the new policy, the line also stated that “seats at gaming tables and slot machines are reserved for players only.”

Smoking is no longer allowed in the casino, unless smokers are seating and actually playing.

Earlier this year, Carnival removed the casino bars on Carnival Vista and Horizon, replacing them with additional slot machines.

Now, all casino bars will be closed, and bar staff will deliver drinks to players.
