As Disney Wish’s debut gets closer, Disney Cruise Line has announced new details on the ship, including “Inside Out”-inspired treats, a picnic with “Frozen” friends, and immersive new shows featuring Disney princesses, villains, and heroes.
Inside Out: Joyful Sweets
Wish will feature an Inside Out-inspired dessert shop, offering handmade gelato, ice cream, candy, and novelty treats.
The brightly colored space has been designed to resemble the control center in 11-year-old Riley’s mind, where her emotions guide her through everyday life. It will feature sculpted figures of the movie’s five main characters, as well as glowing Memory Orb light fixtures.
The ship will serve up nearly 40 flavors of gelato and ice cream, with daily handcrafted gelato specials in combinations like peanut butter pretzel and white chocolate raspberry. A variety of toppings complement the many flavors.
Signature treats inspired by the movie will include colorful cupcakes that evoke the five emotions — Joy (lemon), Sadness (blueberry), Disgust (pistachio), Anger (red velvet), and Fear (bubble gum) — along with chocolate Memory Orbs.
Specialty macarons and cake pops will join an assortment of handmade truffles, designer cookies, brownies, and vibrantly-colored candy.
Olaf’s Royal Picnic
For the first time, passengers will be able to join their Frozen friends for a summertime picnic in Arendelle during an entertainment experience designed for families with kids ages three to 12.
At Olaf’s Royal Picnic, guests will interact with Olaf, Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff and enjoy live musical performances of songs like “Let It Go,” “Fixer Upper,” and “In Summer.”
Under the expert direction of Baroness Dagmar Birgir — a lady-in-waiting to Queen Anna — castle staff will serve up summer treats and picnic fare for the whole family. The hall will be decked out in summer splendor for the occasion, with a canopy of colorful flowers among the festive decor.
Kids will receive a variety of gifts, including a reversible troll plush, themed picnic basket, and custom Nordic-style mandolin, which the’ll need for a special “Reindeer(s) Are Better Than People” strum-and-sing-along with Kristoff.
Those who have booked a cruise on Disney Wish may reserve Olaf’s Royal Picnic before the sailing for an additional fee.
The fairytale-inspired Grand Hall (atrium) will evolve from a gathering space into a theater at various points throughout the cruise.
A royal greeting will await families as they enter the hall for the first time, and every child will receive their own wishing wand upon embarkation which they can use to make the “First Wish” of their vacation during a special boarding celebration.
During the cruise, families can attend Princess meet-and-greets in the Grand Hall, and also attend a “Who’s Behind the Curtain?” game show.
On the final night of each cruise, guests will return to the Grand Hall and raise their wands with Fairy Godmother to ignite a special farewell show.
This brand-new entertainment hub — outfitted with a two-story LED screen wall, stage, and bar — will offer a variety of live shows for families.
“Villains Game Night” is a witty game show where guests will attempt to answer Disney trivia questions amid the jeers and sneers of nefarious Disney foes.
“Disney Songbook” will put guests in the spotlight as they belt out Disney tunes and showcase their star talent for a live camera crew, who will project each performance onto the big screen.
Disney Wish is scheduled to set sail on its inaugural voyage from Port Canaveral on July 14, 2022. It will be followed by a season of three and four-night cruises to Nassau and Disney’s private island Castaway Cay.
