Carnival Ship Extends Cruise Due to Technical Issue

It’s either a good thing or a bad thing for guests sailing on Carnival Vista, depending on how much vacation time they have.  Carnival Cruise Line advised guests sailing on Carnival Vista today that their itinerary would again be altered because of a technical problem… and this time, they’d have an additional day added to their cruise!

A note from the captain said, “Our technical team was able to complete a full assessment of the necessary work this afternoon. It is now clear that we will need to further reduce our cruising speed.”

Earlier this week, the cruise line sent out a memo to guests embarking on Vista indicating that the ship would be forced to cancel Grand Cayman and Jamaica because of a technical issue. The original seven-night cruise has now been changed to an eight-night sailing, adding two more sea days.

The scheduled itinerary had the ship  returning to Galveston on Saturday, June 22. That has now been bumped to Sunday, June 23.
